After a weekend off to catch their breath, the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Series resumes Saturday in beautiful Santa Clara, CA. Not only does Ryan Dungey enjoy a healthy points lead in the 450SX class, but Cooper Webb comes into Santa Clara with a slim points lead in the 250SX West class. Canada’s own SX hero Cole Thompson will also be back on the starting line this weekend and he hopes to build on what has been a solid series for the Ontario rider. As we get set to hit the West Coast again, we take a look back at a few of Frank Hoppen’s best from the first 7 rounds of the 2016 series
Anaheim 1
It all started at Anaheim 1.
Jason Anderson was fastest rider out of the blocks at A1.
Anaheim 1 wasn’t great for a few riders, Justin Barcia was one of them.
San Diego 1
Petco Park in downtown San Diego was a perfect host for round 2.
Chad Reed was styling during practice in San Diego.
Cole Thompson was feeling much more comfortable in San Diego and looked very smooth on the technical track.
Anaheim 2

Oakland
After crashing at the opening round in Anaheim, James Stewart was forced to sit out a few races with a concussion. He was back at Oakland and tried to race, however, he was still injured and didn’t finish.
Cole Thompson had one of his best races of the series in Oakland.

Phoenix
For the first time, the Monster Energy Supercross Series visited the beautiful University of Phoenix Stadium.
Ryan Dungey rode the hard packed Phoenix track like a magician.
The Phoenix track was fast and slippery and demanded the utmost throttle control.
San Diego 2
Cooper Webb had a rough night in San Diego and would briefly give up the points in the 250SX West Class.
One of coolest jumps in the opening rounds was the leap into the sand section. As Jason Anderson proves, this jump wasn’t for the faint of heart.

Dallas
Ken Roczen finally put it all together in Dallas and rode brilliantly.
