ROME, Ga. (USA) April 21, 2016 – The Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, is set to take place at Gillete Stadium in Foxborough this Saturday, April 23, for Round 15 of 17. For the first time in 26 years, the sports brightest stars will return to the city that sits just southwest of Boston and serves as home to the iconic New England Patriots football team. The weather could play a key factor in the open roof stadium, but regardless of the conditions, Pirelli’s SCORPION™MX lineup will be up for the challenge.
BTO Sports/WPS/KTM’s Justin Brayton has been a man on a mission, however, misfortune out of his control has struck several times in recent weeks while running comfortably inside of the top five. The veteran has no apparent lack for speed and shows no signs of slowing down soon. It’s only a matter of time before things work in favor of the No.10 and we see him fighting for a podium position at the checkered flag.
After starting the season injured, Autotrader/Monster Energy/Yamaha’s Justin Barcia has been working non-stop to climb his way back towards the front of the field, which included recording his best finish since returning to racing this past weekend in St. Louis. The New Yorker will have plenty of fans when he lines up on the starting gate in the northeast this weekend.
JGRMX rider Weston Peick has returned to the form he relied on to establish himself as a contender and grab his first career 450SX Class podium last season. The Pirelli rider has shown promise in the northeast before and is expected to keep the momentum rolling.
Pirelli’s support is widespread across the paddock in Monster Energy Supercross, which includes being the tire of choice for a variety of privateer’s, such as Alex Ray and TPJ Racing’s Nick Schmidt who regularly go bar-to-bar with the sport’s elite riders. Each rider has scored multiple top-20 finishes throughout the season, but will be determined to crack the top-15 in the remaining races.
The Eastern Regional 250SX Class has been nothing short of exciting through the first six rounds. After powering his SCOPRION™MX32 tires to a podium finish in Toronto, MAD Racing/Dirt Candy Graphics/Suzuki’s Matt Bisceglia has been forced to battle from the tail end of the field due to first lap racing incidents. He currently sits top-10 in the championship standings and is eager to find his way back on the podium.
Motorcycle Superstore Suzuki’s Jimmy Albertson has been plagued by injury throughout most of the season, but despite the injury, he continues to soldier through the pain and give his best effort each weekend. If the season opener in Atlanta was any indication of his abilities, the friendly Suzuki rider will be looking to rejoin the front-runners inside the top-10.
