For a month, the 2016 Canadian National AX Tour powered by Rockstar Energy made it’s way from Sarnia, to Barrie, to Penticton, before wrapping up with a two night grand finale in Calgary, AB. Throughout the five rounds, amateur and pro riders alike fought tooth and nail on the tight AX Tour tracks as they vied for the series titles. With successful events in each city, the 2016 series took a big step forward with it’s rider support and sponsorship.

In the end, it was Rockstar Energy OTSFF Yamaha rider Chris Blose, who travelled north from his Arizona home to dominate the series and take home the team’s first AX Championship. Although Blose had some challenges from riders like Colton Facciotti, Steve Mages and Jess Pettis, he found a way each weekend to score maximum points en route to the 2016 title. With a multi-year sponsorship deal from Rockstar Energy in place, the Canadian National AX Tour will be back in 2017 bigger and better than ever.

As the AX Tour heads south to it’s events in the USA, we now transfer our attention to BC and the up and coming rounds of the Future West AX Championships. This series resumes next weekend in Chilliwack with rounds 3 and 4 of the 6 race series. With top riders like Jess Pettis, Shawn Maffenbeier and Ryan Lockhart all set to battle inside the Heritage Park Arena, the racing will no doubt be exciting. Here are the final points standings for the 2016 Canadian National AX Tour, as well as the updated Future West AX Series points standings.
