We cannot believe that we’re just one weekend away from the 2017 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals being a part of Canadian moto history. It has definitely been an exciting summer of racing from Coast to Coast, and with just one round remaining, we’re sure that the excitement isn’t over yet. To look back at everything that went down at Round 9 in Deschambault, QC. James Lissimore and his camera brings us this weeks Yamaha Motor Canada Behind the Lens.

Hometown Quebec rider Jason Benny has the ride of his life on Sunday and finished up in third overall.

After having a few sub par weekends in a row, Colton Facciotti bounced back huge at Round 9 and easily won both motos.

After having bike troubles in Moto 1, Davey Fraser was forced to push his bike 200 yards across the finish line.

With the track drying up for the second moto, the MX1 riders were able to jump the massive 130 foot double in the valley.

Casey Keast has been having a solid MX2 series thus far and with one round remaining, he sits inside the top ten in the points standings.

Shawn Maffenbeier came into Round 9 with a 46 point lead in the MX2 class, after not being able to finish Moto 2, his lead is down to just 11 points.

With the fitness and confidence of a seasoned vet, Tanner Ward has been a great addition to the MX2 class. At Round 9, Ward rode incredible to finish up in second overall.

Matt Goerke was very unhappy with Christophe Pourcel’s aggressive pass during the final lap of the second MX1 moto. We can see why he would be upset, but we’re also sure that Goerke would’ve done the exact same thing.

Jess Pettis rode well at Round 9, unfortunately his third in Moto 2 was overshadowed by his 30th in Moto 1.

In recent weeks, Christophe Pourcel has been doing everything he can to try and win this MX1 championship. With two motos to go, he is only 15 points down to Matt Goerke.

Christophe Pourcel rode great on the messy Deschambault track, but he still couldn’t match the speed of Facciotti.

In one of the most amazing results of the 2017 series, Ryan Surratt went 1-1 at Round 9 to dominate the MX2 class and move to within 11 points of the series lead.
