Dylan Wright takes home two 1sts, two 3rds and a Yamaha Factory Ride at the ECAN
The 4.5 hour drive to Deschambault Motocross Park in Deschambault, Quebec was well worth the trip for intermediate MX101 rider Dylan Wright who took part in the Eastern National Amateur Championship (ECAN) held from Friday July 6th to Sunday July 8th, 2012.
Not only did Daniel Thibault and his team put on an excellent event at a fabulous motocross facility, but the weather and Dylan’s results were also outstanding.
Registered in four classes, Dylan had a grueling schedule of 12 motos over 2 days. With temperatures hovering in the top 20s, this weekend put Dylan’s training with Rob Mouland (REV Sports Performance) as well as his Yamaha YZ 125 and 250F dirt bikes to the test.
Thanks to the hard work of Steve Gibson who prepped the bikes for the event, the ongoing onsite bike maintenance completed with the help of Richard Clark during the ECAN, and Dylan’s ongoing hard work on and off the track, the bikes and rider passed the test with flying colours.
Dylan successfully completed all twelve motos, earning himself the top spot on the podium with first place finishes in the Schoolboy 1 and Schoolboy 2 classes. He also earned third place finishes in both the MX2 Intermediate and MX3 Intermediate classes.
With these results, Dylan was the Yamaha rider who accumulated the most points during the ECAN event, earning him a Yamaha factory ride consisting of the use of a Yamaha dirt bike of his choice for the 2013 season, in addition to a budget of $2,500 for Yamaha parts.
With this successful motocross weekend behind him, Dylan now looks ahead to the Loretta Lynn American national amateur motocross championships to be held in Tennessee from July 29th to August 3rd 2012. Dylan qualified to race in the Schoolboy 1 class and is registered as an alternate in the Schoolboy 2 class. Best of luck to you Dylan!
