This past weekend the 2025 Triple Crown Series kicked off at Wild Rose MX Park in beautiful Calgary, AB. For months, we’ve all been anticipating the opening gate drop of this exciting series. Well, the opening round at this scenic track didn’t disappoint as every race on Sunday was exciting to watch as multiple riders battled for the lead. In the end, it was MX101 Yamaha rider Preston Kilroy who won the 250 Pro/Am class with a solid 1-1 moto score. In the 450 class, Dylan Wright and Jess Pettis traded moto wins with Wright’s 2-1 moto score giving him the overall victory. In the Thor WMX class, Katrine Ferguson grabbed her first-ever win as she dominated both motos on Sunday. It was a great day of racing, and now the series moves northeast to Cold Lake for Round 2. As he’s been for two decades now, James Lissimore was in Calgary and sent us these incredible photos.
For the 2025 Triple Crown Series, there’s a new girl in town. Quinn Amyotte was charging hard all day long and in the end he finished 4th OA in his first 450 race. This was about how far apart Pettis and Wright were all day in Calgary. Ryder McNabb led the way during the opening start of the 2025 Triple Crown Series. Phil Nicoletti quickly reminded us what a great starter he is in moto one of the 450 class. Blake Davies had a great second moto in Calgary on his factory Triumph. Nice to see Sam Gaynor and Daniel Elmore with some solid support for 2025. Bobby Gravel showed good speed in Calgary, but a first moto crash detuned him a little. Because of a knee suffered three weeks ago, Wyatt Kerr only rode practice and then called it a day. Preston Kilroy was smooth and fast all day long in Calgary. Ryder McNabb rode well on Sunday but was just a hair off the speed of Kilroy. The McNabb/Kilroy battle was very entertaining to watch in both 250 motos. It’s great to have Phil Nicoletti back in Canada and he rewarded himself with a solid third overall. Jess Pettis won the best whip award in the 450 class with this beauty in practice. Jess Pettis looked very fast and comfortable on his new Blu Cru bike. Racing in Calgary for the first time Cole Pranger had a pretty solid day in the 250 class. Sebastien Racine has to find a little more speed if he wants to run with his teammate this weekend. Dylan Rempel rode well on his new KTM, but he was a little off the pace of the leaders. Evan Stice held third for most of the second 450 moto. A top ten finish at the opening round was just what the doctor order for Zach Umfizeff. Sand specialist Lars Van Berkel rode well on the hard pack and rutted Wild Rose MX track. Noah Viney had an eventful two motos in Calgary. But, he rode well and should finish better this weekend. Dylan Walsh showed us how good he can whip during timed qualifying. Tanner Ward had solid day in Calgary, but he knows he can do better this coming weekend. After chasing Pettis for the better part of two motos, Dylan’s bike was fairly dirty. Dylan Wright certainly didn’t make it easy on himself in moto two. Dylan Wright battled hard all day and was finally able to secure the win with a last lap pass in moto two. Cheers boys and thank you for the show!
