This maybe a jinx, but what a great day here in Calgary. The track is forming up perfect right now with long deep ruts in all the corners.

MX2 practice and qualifiers finished up with Monster Energy Kawasaki Austin Politelli setting the fastest time with a 2:02.105. He wasn’t on his own today as two other riders basically blanketed his times through out the qualifying. KTM Canada Red Bull Fox Canada rider Kaven Beniot ended up second with 2:02.323 and RTR Scott Honda Topher Ingalls 2:02.898. All three riders  ended within a second of each others time at the final checkers.

American Josh Clark, Blake Savage, Brad Nauditt, Tyler Villopoto, Richard Grey, University of Calgary student Jared Allison and Kyle Swanson closed up the top 10.

In Mx1 timed qualifier Jeremy Medaglia and Teddy Maier went on the attack right from the start. Maier and Medaglia swapped fast times while the older brother Tyler Medaglia began to linked together fast laps with Brett Metcalfe. By practice end the track was pristine for racing and lap times began to drop. Bobby Kiniry split up the top 2 demoting Jeremy Medaglia to third. Maier increased the pace and sliced 2 second off his pace becoming the first to drop below 2 minutes with a 1:59.  Jeremy Medaglia brought up his time and over took Kiniry for second in the fastest overall times. Cycle North Honda rider Ross Johnson who looked like the Calgary track suited his style rocking to 4th overall at the practice end. Series points leader Brett Metcalfe just never looked comfortable and ended the qualifying in 5th. Tyler Medaglia, who is second in the points, finished qualifying in 6th. Gavin Grayck, Morgan Burger, Dylan Kaelin and Brock Hoyer rounded out the top 10.

Injury notes form the morning.  Mx2 rider Teegan William may have suffered a concussion and is done for the day. Alberta rider George Degraff took a tumble and injured his wrist. He is also done for the day.
