Courtland, Ontario, Canada – It was a beautiful day of racing in Gopher Dunes this past weekend. The skies were clear and the air was a humid 30 degrees. The track was sandy as usual and proved to be quite difficult. Many spectators were on hand to witness their favorite professional riders attempt to achieve greatness, in the form of a win or podium finish. Both Royal Distributing Fox KTM Riders achieved top five results and earned valuable points towards the championship.
In the MX2 class Kaven Benoit was quite impressive. Kaven’s second practice did not go according to plan and he suffered a painful crash injuring his back during qualifying. Kaven was extremely sore after crashing. The medical staff cleared Kaven to race and he decided to persevere and race both moto 1 and 2. Kaven finished an impressive 2nd in both motos for 2nd overall. Kaven not only earned 2 solid finishes, but he did so, bruised and battered. Kaven’s discipline and hard work has allowed him to hold onto the red plate and the number one position in the point’s series to date.
In the MX1 class Tyler Medaglia was consistent in both practices. He was extremely pleased with the setup of his motorcycle. Tyler began moto 1 in tenth position and quickly worked his way up to 5th, where he would finish. In moto 2 Tyler once again was in tenth position and began to work his way to the front of the pack. He began to get pelted by roost from the riders of ahead of him, which forced him to remove his goggles in order to see. Once he removed his goggles, Tyler put his head down and motored to a 5th place position where he would finish. Tyler earned a 4th place finish overall, maintaining his 3rd place in the points chase.
Look for the Royal Distributing Fox KTM Race Team to better their results at the next round of the Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals in San Del Lee.
