The 3 Q’s With Ryan Lockhart Presented By Atlas Brace Canada

Next up on the Future West Moto race schedule is 100 Mile House.

MXP: Hey Newf! The summer of 2025 is almost over, and regionally, the events are beginning to wind down. With only three rounds remaining in the Future West Moto Series, how would you rate 2025 thus far?

RL: Yes three rounds to go and honestly it’s been great so far. Entries are up over last year which is always positive, and things have been going smooth for the most part. The next two of three rounds are new tracks that we have never raced before, so that is building excitement for the racers and families. Anytime you head to a new track it’s exciting, and we at Future West are confident that everyone will like the 100 Mile House track along with the iconic Agassiz track. If all works out we will have an 8 round series with 7 different tracks that we go to.

MXP: Looking back at the Triple Crown Series, were there any moments or results that really shocked you this summer?

RL: I mean basically everything that went on with Dylan Wright and Jess Pettis was shocking. From the bike DNF’s to the crashes was absolutely crazy in a sense that no one saw it coming or playing out the way that it did. Both guys were by far the favourites coming in and nether were even close to winning the championship in the end. Results wise, the two back to back overalls from Tanner Ward was also shocking for me but at the same time very well deserved. It was definitely a crazy summer!

MXP: After last weekend’s crash at Budds Creek, it appears that Dylan Wright just can’t buy any luck right now. What is the official status on his health, and what is next for our beloved multi-time Champion?

RL: When it rains it pours and to be honest, it’s hard to process how bad the last two seasons have gone for Dylan. I really feel for him cause most of the stuff that has happened was out of his control. Budds was supposed to be a race to cap off a miserable year and a positive result to head into the off season. Well that didn’t happen but I think everyone including him is just glad the season is over. He ended up fracturing his T4 vertebra and will be off the bike for a couple months. Hopefully we see him back for some off season races in the fall.
