MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS

The Motocross of Nations is the most important event on the World Motocross Calendar. The MXON is the “Olympics” of Motocross and as such is attended by most Countries with Motocross programs. Three top riders are sent to compete for their Countries honour in this prestigious event. A record 41 countries have entered the 67th running of the Motocross of Nations September 29 in Teutschenthal, Germany.

The event is televised to a Worldwide audience in excess of 200 million, written about for months in virtually every Motocross publication, discussed and debated endlessly on the Worlds major webforums and attended by tens of thousands of motocross enthusiasts. No Offroad Motorcycle event comes close to creating as much excitement and debate in as many Countries as the Motocross of Nations.

Canadian riders who compete in the MXON create awareness for Canada’s involvement in the sport and represent the entire Motocross community, drawing attention to the current and future state of motocross competition in Canada. Riders from every country are thrilled to be part of this important event and ride in front of the largest annual gathering of Motocross Industry Executives, Managers, Sponsors and Promoters.

The Canadian Team going to Germany this year is comprised of Cole Thompson, MX1, Jeremy Medaglia MX2 and Tyler Medaglia, our MX3 rider. They will have the opportunity to line up beside a majority of the best riders in the World. It’s an opportunity afforded to a select few Canadian Pro riders.

This year, all 3 Canadians will sit on the same starting line and compete against current stars like Ryan Dungey, Eli Tomac and Justin Barcia from the USA, Current MXON champions Ken Roczen and Maximilian Nagl from Germany. MX 1World Champion Antonio Cairoli and his teammates David Philippaerts and Alessandro Lupino from Italy.
MX2 World Champion Jeffery Herlings and his star teammate Glenn Coldenhoff from the Netherlands. Belgian superstarts Ken DeDycker and Clement DeSalle. Anyone involved in our sport will understand what a rush that will create for Canada’s Team. The riders and mechanics agree to take part in the event for no compensation.
