Anytime the Daytona International Speedway holds any type of racing event, it’s always very special. Well it’s no different when the Supercross Series invades Daytona Beach to run as part of the infamous Bike Week. There was no shortage of action on Saturday night as once again it was a KTM sweep in both classes on the rough Ricky Carmichael designed track. As always, our Frank Hoppens was there to capture it all for another epic Behind The Lens.
There’s nothing quite like the Daytona SX. It definitely should be on every fans bucket list.

Jake Weimer didn’t have a great night in Daytona and finished 20th, however he still looked like a winner in his zebra Seven Gear.
Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson once again rode well in Daytona and finished a strong 7th. Here he shows picture perfect form through a deep Daytona rut.
You have to give maximum credit to Kyle Chisholm for how much effort he puts into his racing. In Daytona Team Chiz got rewarded with a solid 13th in the main event.
I know Jordan Smith had an off night in Daytona and finished 12th in the 250SX main event. However, I was still cheering for him because I love his number. #team126
Marvin Musquin is beginning to make the 250SX East Series look easy. In Daytona he once again got a great start and rode off to victory.
Blake Baggett is securing his Rookie of the Year status every time he takes to the track in 2015. On Saturday night the Suzuki rider turned in his best performance of the season and finished on the podium in third.
Even though Davi Millsaps finished well back in 9th place. He did ride well and probably had his best race of the series so far.
There were numerous battles on the rough Daytona track though out the night. Almost every rider in the top five had to battle hard to pass Weston Peick who is riding better than ever.
Cole Seely had the podium in his sights until a small crash pushed him back to 4th overall. It was still one of the Honda riders best finishes of the 2015 season.
It’s almost impossible for even the smoothest of riders to do 20 laps at Daytona and not get out of shape at least once. Here Eli Tomac throws convention aside and just tries to get it done.
What is practice at the worlds most famous speedway without a sick Nac-Nac. After all, Daytona is the place where racing legends come to play.
By the mid-way point of the main event every corner had knee deep ruts that gave even the best riders trouble.
For some reason Ken Roczen chose not to be a part of this winning team for 2015. I wonder if he’s rethinking his odd decision?
Ryan Dungey and Chad Reed have been the fastest two riders since the 2015 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series moved east. At Daytona, Dungey rode more aggressive in the first few laps of the main event and put himself in better position then Reed to take the win.
After ten rounds of supercross, this photo pretty much tells the story of the series so far. Ryan Dungey is definitely riding better in my opinion then he ever has before.
