For the first time since 2002 our National Series visited the beautiful Province of Nova Scotia, located just outside Truro, Pleasant Valley Raceway is a local favourite among East Coast riders and everyone was looking forward to hosting Round 7 of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals presented by Motovan. In the MX1 class it was KTM rider Davi Millsaps who was able to get himself back on top of the podium. In the MX2 class it was Cole Thompson who won both motos and made it an orange sweep in Nova Scotia. As he’s been all season long, James Lissimore was on hand and sent us this photo report.

Dressed in new 2017 Thor gear, Cole Thompson once again dominated the MX2 class.

Since the series moved east a few weeks ago, Brett Metcalfe has been second overall all three times. He now sits second in the MX1 points.

No surprise that hard working Canadian hero Tyler Medaglia scored his best finish of 2016 at his home track.

After two weekends of mediocre performances by his standards, Davi Millsaps got back on track with a double moto win at Pleasant Valley.

With a cement pad and a very short start straight, not a lot of riders enjoyed the Pleasant Valley start.

Dylan Wright is really proving his worth in the eastern half of the series. If he can keep up his torrid pace, he will be in high demand in 2017.

KTM dominated the podium at Round 7.

After winning the last two overalls, Matt Goerke had a weekend to forget at Round 7 and finished fourth overall.

The crowd loved seeing Tyler Medaglia’s bike in the podium circle.

The day started off with a little east coast morning fog. Soon after the sun came out and the temperatures rose.

Dakota Alix ran up front all day in Pleasant Valley and finished third overall.

Colton Facciotti’s day couldn’t have been much worse at Round 7. In Moto 1, he crashed right off the start, and in Moto 2, once again he went down hard and injured his shoulder.

Other than some newfound speed, Brett Metcalfe’s starts have been one of the biggest reasons that he now sits in second overall.

Shawn Maffenbeier ate a lot of roost on his way to yet another second overall.

With the fastest lap times in both MX1 motos, no one was catching Davi Millsaps on Sunday.

Decisions, decisions! I think we’ll go left.

The Pleasant Valley trees got a bird’s eye view of the battle for the lead in the MX2 class.

Even track owner Mitch Cooke was surprised at just how fast Davi Millsaps was.

Brett Metcalfe now seems to be very comfortable with his Yamaha.

Even the flaggers loved watching the fastest man in the MX1 class rip up their Pleasant Valley track.
