Lake of the Prairies…what more can I say? I think the pictures speak for themselves. Brendon’s parents bought a cabin out here just across the border on the Manitoba side a couple years ago. It’s about an hour east of Yorkton so we try to come out here as much as we can. One of the best parts about it, no cell service! It’s truly a chance to get away from the world of technology we live in and get back to the outdoor life. Who would have thought that in all of the flat prairies we live in that this would exist? So for all you haters out there, Saskatchewan ain’t so bad after all!
The newest addition to the Arnett Family…the SEA DOO! This baby rips. We had it up to 65 miles an hour, and yes I was almost thrown off a couple times by a certain someone who claimed that it could not be tipped over. This is my adrenaline rush replacement from riding a dirt bike until I get healed up, and I definitely have no complaints about that.
I think I might have found a new hobby: archery. I might not be very good at it but I am getting better each time. The Arnett family is big into hunting so I didn’t have much choice in getting involved somehow or another.
That’s right, those are my shots! This is my third time shooting the bow and I must say it is a lot more enjoyable to hit the target instead of spending hours afterwards looking for the arrows in the field. I don’t know if I could ever kill a living animal, so I will stick to the targets for now.
Zeus!!! My favourite little man out there! He is 2 years old, 130 lbs of pure love, slobber, and joy, and one of the biggest sucks you will ever meet!
Quadding, SeaDooing, archery, fishing, bon fires, relaxing and spending time with the family – what more could you ask for on a long weekend? This might not be about Moto but I think it’s always good to have some down time and relax. Sometimes people get so caught up in the race scene that they don’t take the time to enjoy other hobbies out there. Spending a little bit of time away from the track can help get the spark back in racing. I will leave you with another update from Sierra Roth.
“Well…It’s been a month since my accident and boy has it been crazy. I am well underway with recovery and beginning to see the light of leaving this hospital. Many are so surprised with my progress and how well I am able to figure things out. It’s definitely starting from square one and how to live life again. Therapy has me getting dressed on my own, manoeuvring around, and transferring from chairs to bed. Next step is learning how to do wheelies! Because my injury is from my sternum down, I have no core or back muscles either. So, I am a huge bobble head at this point (Hahaha). This journey would be far worse if it wasn’t for all the support I have received. I couldn’t thank you all enough! Xoxo, Sierra ”
Hope everyone had a great long weekend!
