With the opening round of the Monster Energy Supercross Series set to go this weekend in Anaheim, CA, Canadian fans are excited to watch the world’s best supercross riders tackle the A1 track. However, we also will have the talented Brock Leitner to cheer for as he is planning on not only racing the opening round, but also most of the 2017 SX series. Brock has been training hard in California for the past month and he’s looking forward to his first practice session this Saturday. Even though he’s busy making final preparations, we were able to catch up with him for this week’s FXR Racing Ten Spot.
MXP: What did you do today?
Today was my first day back from the holidays and I went to Lake Elsinore in the morning to ride some SX, and then went to Hemet in the evening. However, I was having a couple bike problems so I had to call it a day, but I got it all figured out and ready for tomorrow!
How many famous riders have you seen ride in the past few weeks?
I have seen a lot in the past few weeks and was intimidated at first but I’m now used to them always being around.

How excited are you to race the opening round at Anaheim?
I am very excited to be at A1 as it’s been an event I have dreamt about for many years!
How would you like to see Saturday play out?
I would love to see the rain stay away and for it to be a good even playing field! I am hoping to get some solid laps in and make it into the night show!
What is your favourite track in California?
I would have to say my favourite track would be the Milestone SX track.
Where is your favourite place to eat after a day of training?
My favourite place to eat after a day of riding is my van haha! Nothing beats a good homemade sandwich!
What is your favourite SX obstacle?
My favourite obstacle is the SX triple! I always seem to get that before the big rhythm section.
If they made you a part of opening ceremonies this weekend, what song would you want them to use?
Thunderstruck by AC/DC
In 2016, Brock raced a few rounds of the Monster Energy SX Series and had a lot of fun. This year though, he has more experience and is looking for better results.
How many laps will it probably take you to jump the triples in practice at Anaheim?
I would say it’ll probably take me three laps at the most to hit the triples!
If you could have one rider come to you on Saturday and give you advice, who would you want it to be?
There are multiple but I would have to say Ken Roczen!
