International SixDays Of Enduro FIM Argentina 2014 Hellish San Juan fits France well

France remains the best in World Trophy after Day 4 at the FIM International Six Days of Enduro 2014. The French team lost some ground, but still keeps a good advantage over the United States, while Spain defends its third place. In Junior Trophy and Women Trophy the Americans and the Australians are the leaders respectively. Argentina is keeping its historical fifth place in the highest category.
All along the previous 88 FIM ISDE competitions, not many days of race were so devilish hot as it was today in San Juan.

The suffocating hot weather and the demanding circuits, which left 112 riders out of the race yesterday, put the brave riders to test again today. However, the course authorities had already decided to cancel the last test today due to the roughness of Day 3.

Extreme conditions demand extraordinary measures. That seems to be the French team attitude towards the race as they are more likely to focus on keeping the advantage than to continue pushing. The only one who apparently is out of that plan is Pierre Renet (Husqvarna), who set the fastest individual time of the day once more, although he could not stop the United States from achieving the best team performance.

Kaliub Russell (KTM) and Taylor Robert (KTM) were in charge of the American attack which allowed them to discount almost three minutes and a half from the leaders. Now the Europeans have a 12.47 advantage over the Americans.
Spain is far from the fight for the first place after the 23-minute penalty Jonathan Barragán (Husqvarna) received. Now, with only 5 members in the team, they are followed by Germany, which is a bit less than five minutes away from the last step in the podium.

In the Junior World Trophy classification, the United States starts to take distance profiting from the rivals’ problems. The American team shows a surprising consistency which has led it to first place and for the first time in the competition it has a small advantage. France, with Loic Larrieu (Husqvarna) as the fastest among JWT today, reached the second place 1.12 from the lead, while Sweden, which lost the fastest rider, Oliver Nelson (KTM), fell to the third place, 2.19 from the leaders.
Australia lost Thomas McCokrmack (Yamaha) yesterday, but Lachlan Stanford (Husqvarna) has taken over and is fighting hard. The team is 5.25 from the Americans.

Among women, Jesica Gardiner (Sherco) is taking the Australian women team to a victory almost for sure. The team still has a full grid and enjoys a 1:43.07 advantage over Canada, which only has Shelby Turner (KTM) and Victoria Hett (KTM). Amanda Mastin (KTM), is the only US representative and is third.

Individual classifications did not suffer any considerable changes after this exhausting day. Christophe Nambotin (KTM) extends his lead to almost four minutes in E1 over Marc Bourgeois (Yamaha). Renet is aside from his rivals fight in E2, where Russell is only 1.71 from Matthew Phillips (KTM) in the fight for the second place. In E3, Toby Price (KTM)’s pace is keeping him far from its followers, Iván Cervantes (KTM) and Michael Brown (Husqvarna); while Gardiner is over Jemma Wilson (Yamaha) in EW.

Tomorrow the action goes to the north of San Juan. Demanding, rough tests with many loose stones all along the way will be the main challenge in the last long day in FIM ISDE 2014. The bikes will leave Paddock at Estadio Bicentenario to race at Villicum, Aeródromo and Museo La Laja special tests.

Saturday will only have a Cross Test located at Asociación Sanjuanina de Enduro y Rescate (ASER) Cross circuit.

Argentina loses another soldier but still defends the fifth place.

Two days of competition separate the Argentine team from getting a historical result within FIM ISDE. However, the task will not be easy since after losing Nicolás Giustozzi (KTM), the local team has only four, out of the six original members. In Juniors Agustín Maldonado (KTM) was the first loss, anyway the host country holds the seventh place.

Argentina starts to feel the extreme conditions of one of the hardest events in the history of “Six Days”. After Stefano Caimi (KTM)`s retirement in Day 3, today the National team lost another rider who had to leave the competition due to mechanical problems in his KTM.

Just like yesterday, Franco Caimi was the fastest in the team. Argentina is out of the fight for the podium, but with a considerable advantage regarding Australia, which is in the sixth position, and has one less rider.
