Kaven Benoit Podiums in Moncton

Sunday August 3, 2014

Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada – Royal Distributing Fox KTM Team rider Kaven Benoit finished a solid 2nd overall. He went 1-4 for 2nd Overall in Moncton. Kaven was able to pull the Royal Holeshot in Moto 1 and rounded the first turn in 3rd in Moto 2. MX1Team rider Tyler Medaglia obtained two 7th place finishes in both MX1 Moto’s and finished inside the top 10 with a 7th place overall finish. Sunday’s racing proved to be extremely challenging as the track conditions were less than ideal. The track was extremely dry, hard packed and littered with rocks. Passing was no easy task as large rocks sprayed the riders attempting to make a pass. Aside from the track conditions, the weather could not have been better. It was a beautiful sunny August day without a cloud in the sky. There were a tremendous amount of spectators on hand to witness their favorite pro riders. Without question, Moncton had the largest amount of spectators.

In the MX2 class Kaven Benoit was a force to be reckoned with. Kaven was the first one out of the gate in Moto 1, earning the coveted Royal Holeshot award. Kaven’s second moto did not go as well, as he was pushed off the track by another rider, dropping him from 3rd to 14th place. This forced Kaven to put on a charge from 14th to 4th place where he would finish the second Moto. Kaven finished with a solid overall 2nd place podium finish and maintains the points lead with 32 points. Kaven continues to have a firm grasp on the red number plate. Kaven’s 2nd hometown race is next week in Ulverton, expect him to stand atop the podium at days end.

In the MX1 class the track proved to be extremely difficult. Tyler Medaglia fought hard in Moncton with the hard packed dry dirt, which proved to be quite challenging. Tyler was one of the fastest in practice, but with moto after moto pounding out the track the conditions were ever changing. Tyler earned two 7th place finishes in both Motos earning a respectable 7th overall on the day. Expect Tyler to rebound in Ulverton.

Look for the Royal Distributing Fox KTM Race Team to better their results at the next round of the Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals in Ulverton, Quebec.
