Monday Maniac #48

ahahahah. Just a little too jolly.

‘Tiz the season for the best time of the year. December is finally here along with all the wonderful sights and sounds of the Christmas Holidays. Parties, family, friends, laughs, hot drinks, and gifts are all the things that add to this special time of year. So what’s on your list for Santa this year? The older I get, it seems to get so much harder each year to find the right gift for that special someone or a family member. Last year was kind of funny at my house as the presents that were under my tree were horrible. It was very unsatisfying with what we received; I ended up taking most of it back. Haha It was an awkward gift opening moment or moments. Oh well, it’s the thought that matters isn’t it? LOL I would say the other joyful part of this month are the parties or random gatherings for laughs, story times, shared memories from the year, or even times when you want to lay it all on the line and really speak your mind. This time of year seems to install that “liquid confidence” some of us need to really let our true feelings come out. I personally enjoy that part. The more open you are the better relationship I think you will have, but who am I to share that type of advice? Doctor Oz I am not. Ha So if you have a few drinks this holiday season and feel like letting someone have it, go for it. What’s the worst that could happen? Either you get slapped or you both have a big hug over it. Either way it could create a grand Christmas memory, funny or sad. Hahaha

This one is for Richard Grey SR for sure. Buck up Buttercup!!!

As we all know one of our motocross family members was in a bad car accident a couple weeks ago. Johnny Montes is still in a rough place but some positive came out last week regarding his condition. This was from his sister on the Atlantic Motocross Facebook page: Just an update on Johnny Montes, We are getting some positive stuff going on. He has been taken off sedation meds and we are just waiting for him to wake. There has been some movement of his hands, legs and head. Such a wonderful update to give you all. Keep your happy thoughts coming.

There is also a fundraiser coming up for Johnny and his family:

If you’re in the area or can send money, please do so. It’s a good idea for spending a few Christmas dollars.

If you’re in the area or can even send some dough out for Johnny, do so. He could really use it over this Christmas holiday.

So I spent the first weekend of December in the right frame of mind. Christmas beverages on Friday then tree cutting on Saturday followed by a yearly tradition with the Grey family, O’Farrells, and a few others. It’s always perfect for a good laugh and if you came in with any self respect, hanging with Big D for a day will rip that right out of you. He’s a little low with self respect so he loves to give it to others. One day he will snap out of his depressing funk and come back to a time when cutting somebody down won’t interest him anymore. Hahaha…ya, and monkeys will fly out of my butt. So the tree cutting part didn’t really happen as we all just couldn’t seem to find that special tree that would serve its Christmas destiny. So on the way out of the Drysdale Tree farm we just tossed our 55 bucks and grabbed a beauty pre-cut tree. I for one am a huge supporter of the real tree. I think it’s a big piece of the puzzle to get you in the Christmas season. Plastic trees are for lazy people that just let this month pass them by as another time of year. Ba Hum Bug to those folks.

That’s my kind of Santa. LOL

This weekend marks the annual Toronto Motorcycle Show. Once again, MXP will be on hand with lots of items under the tent, giveaways, pretty ladies, MXPFilms,  and our brand new magazine with Jeremy Medaglia on the cover. Be sure to stop by to say hi. Hope to see you all there.

I got this pretty sweet video sent to me from the Monster Energy Canada crew of their newest freestyle rider Kris Foster. Watch below

Kris Foster is the real deal, except for the hair cut. hahah Looks like Josh Hansen.

Kris Foster has come a long way in a short period of time in the Freestyle world. Being linked with Monster and Fox Canada should help with his work towards becoming one of Canada’s great Freestyle riders.

We just wrapped up our last issue of the 2012 year. What a solid year it was for MXP and the entire community of racing or off-road riding. There is still a lot of work to get back to the way things were 5-6 years ago, but this year some things got better and you’d have to think that we are on the upswing of becoming a solid nation of Motocross racers again in the near future. At least I think so. The passion that all of us share for this sport just won’t go away and I think the way things are being looked at now are all giving us some good food for thought towards the future. Check out our last cover of 2012

This hits the TO Bike Show this weekend.

The next magazine on our list is out Photo Annual, which always stirs up the pot with great columns, amazing photography by Marc Landry and the annual “Gauldy Awards” where I usually piss somebody off with my “biggest disappointment” of the year. I wonder what it will be this year? The truth can be an evil bugger sometimes. Hahhaah

Okay, to end this off, if you haven’t entered the Ride 100% contest yet then you have about 24 hours to do so before we launch our next Christmas contest with Matrix 1.7 Cleaning Solutions. Click HERE for the 100% contest and look for the new contest to launch tomorrow after lunch time.
