Don't Miss

Monday Maniac #50

By Gauldy 107

Hahahaha.

There are just over seven days until the jolly man in a big red suit crashes down your chimney and brings smiles to the faces of every kid that is on the nice list. Christmas is such a great time of year (unless you live in Ontario right now, which is more like some apocalyptic time with this rainy dark nonsense) for most. Smiles of joy from all the children, amazing light displays on certain houses full of the Christmas spirit, decorating your real or fake tree, and shopping till your feet hurt hoping your gift is the perfect one for that loved one. I can’t express enough how much I love this time of year. It usually brings the best out in everyone. This week is always the craziest, especially for all the men in the world, unless you’re part of the small percentage of men that get you’re shopping done ahead of time. This week the malls will be full of last minute shoppers, the fellas that have no clue what to get. In fact if you wanted a good laugh, head to the mall, grab a coffee, find a bench to sit on and watch confused men wander the stores and ask each salesperson, “Do you think she will like this?” Hahaha. Merry Christmas!!

We almost had too much news this week on www.mxpmag.com.  If you missed it, here’s a small recap of what’s happening in the world of Canadian moto:

Monday

  • The biggest rule change in the history of the sport in Canada. Two-strokes are now eligible to compete in the MX2 class for 2013. I honestly think, and so many others feel the same way, that this is a great move by the CMRC. You can read the press release HERE

Tuesday

  • We loaded all the photos from the Toronto Bike Show that were taken with our beautiful models Dana and Alyshia. Click HERE if you missed it. These girls were awesome in the booth. We attracted many new fans because of them.
  • Mike McGill has become a great asset to MXP. He’s an old school racer that has a passion for the sport like so many of us. Mike has recently become one of our newest writers in our magazine and also contributes once in a while here on www.mxpmag.com. His latest is called “Hidden Treasures”, which shares the SC Racing Cards that were made back in the ‘80s. As always, a great read. If you missed it click HERE to check it out. Thanks Mike.

Wednesday

  • We received this link to another sick edit from JoshMacMedia. Zeb Dennis is one of the most talented athletes I know and he proves that once again in this video below.

  • Gamma Sales is a great company that supports the sport of Motocross here in Canada. Whether it is banner ads, dressing up racers in the latest Fly Racing gear, or simply providing opportunities with job offerings like this position right HERE, they do it all. Gamma is full of good people. Maybe you could join the team.
  • Um, Ya Dianna Dahlgren is about the hottest thing to ever happen to SX. She now washes bikes as well.

Thursday

  • If you don’t know the company Decal Works, then you have obviously been running crappy old Mair digits or duct tape for graphics your entire riding career. We sat down with Decal Works founder Ron Joynt to see how things are with the 23 year-old company right HERE
  • MXP launched its final issue of the 2012 season. You can now view it online right HERE and view all the latest stories, news and columns from all of our amazing contributors. Big thanks to all the people that shared it and also commented on how good a read it is. How about you read it and tell us how ya think it turned out. Tweet us, Facebook us or comment on the bottom of the page.

Get your read on!!!

  • The biggest news to end the year was press release that KTM Canada sent out. It has been known throughout the industry but now it’s official. Kaven Benoit is now the third and final rider under their tent for 2013. This now leaves former KTM pilot Jeremy Medaglia looking for a ride this coming year. With the launch of the new MX2 rule allowing 250 two-strokes in the class, J Medags’ name has come up the most from all the bench racers as a guy that could use this new rue to his advantage. But the problem is Jeremy hasn’t ridden a two-stroke since his CR 80 days. Could it work? Read the press release on Kaven right HERE.

Friday

  • The final MXPFilm of 2013 is from the Toronto Motorcycle show.

  • Christmas Contest #3 – Atlas Brace – click HERE to get the information on how to win. We have run two great contests already with 100% and Matrix Cleaning Solutions. John Bowman took home the 100% prize, and I am happy to announce that Brittany Thompson won the Matrix contest. Congrats to those winners. Tomorrow the Atlas brace contest ends at noon so enter now!!

So you are now caught up in the Canadian moto world. I am super (Dungey) pumped about the site right now. The numbers are high, and people are enjoying all the great content. MXP has had a banner year and we will continue to do so with all the amazing support we receive from the industry and fans.

Ben Milot training for the House of Dancing Water show produced by Franco Dragone in Macau China.

I will now end this on a sad note. I do not watch the news that often or really care that much what happens in the so called real world because it’s always so negative. Well, another unbelievable negative happened in Newton, Connecticut on December 14th. Just 10 days before the best day of the year, the worst happened. A total of 26 victims, mostly between 5-10 years of age were gunned down at Sandy Hook Elementary School. How could someone have it so bad that they need to shoot children? What in the hell is wrong today for this to happen? Who’s to blame?  I am truly saddened by this, as are so many. My heart goes out to the families of the victims who will have to spend Christmas without their children.
