Off Season Training With PerformX Training and Todd Schumlick

When do we suggest athletes begin there off-season training? To achieve full benefits, we suggest that most recreational riders start approximately 3 – 5 months prior to ride/race season, and most competitive riders start approximately 6 – 8 months prior to ride/race season. This includes strength, cardiovascular, and mobility training.

Which of our programs do we suggest for the off-season, including those who’ve already completed one or more of our programs?

We would suggest the following, including the order to complete them in, and duration for each:

4, 8, & 12 Week Online MTB, Moto, & Action Sports Training. Choose according to the start of your on-season, as well as considering your time commitment and additional programs we suggest below (2 – 4).

Kettlebell Strength 1 or 2. KB Strength 1 is best suited for novice/intermediate fitness levels, and KB Strength 2 is best suited for intermediate/advanced fitness levels. We suggest completing either for 4 – 8 week duration.

Body Weight Strength & Mobility 1. We suggest completing for 4 week duration.

Dynamic Strength & Conditioning. We suggest completing for 4 – 8 week duration.    There you have it….3 – 8 months of off-season training! You can choose according to your on-season start, budget, and time commitment.

How should you incorporate riding with training with?

We have developed our online training with a ‘quality over quantity’ approach. Meaning, our training should allow the time and energy for 1 – 3 rides per week, in addition to continuing your training as prescribed.

  • These programs were developed with our 4, 8, & 12 Week Online MTB, Moto, & Actions Sports Training clients in mind. The programs are a great compliment to the ‘sports specific’ MTB, moto, & action sports training. If unsure which to choose, feel free to reach out to us (info@performxtraining.com).
