ROCKSTAR ENERGY OTSFF YAMAHA MOTOVAN.COM’S BOBBY KINIRY TAKES OVERALL WIN IN CALGARY

Monster Energy Leading Edge Thor Kawasaki’s Teddy Maier Remains Undefeated in MX2 Class

Calgary, Alberta (June 17, 2012) – Following very consistent rides during the first two rounds of the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals, Rockstar Energy OTSFF Yamaha Motovan.com’s Bobby Kiniry broke through for his first win of the 2012 season at Wild Rose MX Park in Calgary.
Kiniry came into Calgary ready to challenge Monster Energy Leading Edge Thor Kawasaki`s Matt Goerke, as Goerke had been flawless so far this season winning all four pervious motos and holding the series points lead. In moto one, Goerke was able to hold off Kiniry’s charge to take the win, however in moto two, Kiniry was able to get into the lead and pull away from the pack to split moto wins with Goerke to earn his first overall victory of 2012.
Goerke finished second overall with 1-2 moto scores while KTM Red Bull Royal Distributing Fox Racing’s Colton Facciotti rode consistent earning two, third place finishes and third overall of the day.
Competition in the MX1 class is heating up as Gopher Dunes Racing Troy Lee Designs Powersports Canada`s Tyler Medaglia, KTM Red Bull Royal Distributing Fox Racing’s Dusty Klatt  and Monster Energy Leading Edge Thor Kawasaki’s Tyler Villopoto all had remarkable rides, challenging each other for the fourth through six positions in each moto.
In the MX2 class, Monster Energy Leading Edge Thor Kawasaki’s Teddy Maier looks unbeatable as he continued his undefeated season cruising to take first place in both motos. KTM Red Bull Royal Distributing Fox Racing’s Jeremy Medaglia also continued to be consistent taking a pair of second place finishes, controlling damage to the season point’s standings.
The surprise of the weekend was Scott-Sports Honda rider Brad Nauditt who secured two holeshots and two, fourth place finishes, earning himself third overall to capture his first ever career podium finish.
After a tough day, Monster Energy Leading Edge Thor Kawasaki’s Kyle Beaton and Checkpoint Yamaha’s Spencer Knowles showed they are podium contenders, finishing third place in one moto each. Unfortunately, both riders would have their problems on the slippery Calgary track, making them unable to string together an overall podium finish.

On Saturday, prior the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals, The 2012 Western Women’s National Series hosted their second round of racing action, which saw American rider Hailey Larson take the overall victory in front of Alberta’s own Shelby Turner who finished second and 2011 Series Champion, Denaye Giroux who rounded out the podium in third place. The final round of Western Women’s National Series will take place from Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday, June 23.

The 2012 Monster Energy Motocross Nationals continues next weekend, with round four of the series on Sunday, June 24 at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta,
