Round 5 & 6 hit the West Coast with a Bang

Tuesday, October 27th, 2015) – Round 5 & 6 in Penticton, BC took place this past weekend.  For all those who thought Sarnia’s bar-to-bar racing couldn’t be matched, were wrong.  #100 Jacob Hayes and #148 Cole Thompson made sure to give the crowd exactly what they wanted; an edge of your seat performance.  These two have had it out for each other since round one in London, ON.  Since then, crowds have been able to witness some of the best racing in Canadian arenacross history.  The aggression is high when these two hit the track and they don’t try to hide it.  With the first rounds to hit the West Coast, a new slew of Pro’s showed up to compete with our East Coast riders.  The fans were lucky to be able to watch for the first time The Future West Coast Arenacross Stars compete with The Canadian National Arenacross Stars.

On Friday night, Jacob Hayes finished strong and was a force to be reckoned with.  He took home all three wins of the night and also earned himself a few Holeshot awards.  Cole Thompson almost managed to take the win in the “Clash for Cash” but had some bike troubles that took him out of the running for the victory and landed him with the 2nd place spot.  He also finished 2nd in the AX Main and 3rd in the AX Lites.  Chris Blose earned podium for all three races as well with a 2nd and two 3rd place spots.  Lastly, newcomer #239 Ross Johnson (The Future West Arenacross star), was just short of podium nailing down the 4th place spot in both the AX Main and the “Clash for Cash”.

On day two, Chris Blose claimed his first win of the season in the AX Lites with Ross Johnson right behind him.  Jess Pettis took a strong 3rd while Jacob Hayes ended up 4th and Cole Thompson got docked 5 spots due to rough riding.  Hayes, Thompson, and Blose took podium, in that order, in the final two races of the night: Main and Clash.  Jacob has now claimed 2 out of the 4 Clash for Cash races and if he can nail down one more in Calgary, he will be taking home the AXTOUR Triple Crown presented by Parts Canada of $25,000.

Calgary will host the last two rounds November 6/7.  With just one point separating Hayes and Thompson, the battles should continue to entertain spectators as they vive for the Championship title.  Who will be crowned the first ever Canadian National Arenacross Tour Champion?  The answer will come in the Agrium Western Event Centre in downtown Calgary.
