Every year there are a few tracks that every rider loves going to. The circuit in Ulverton is an old school thing of beauty that test every part of a racers abilities, if you want to be successful, you had better be focused and ready for anything. Over the years we’ve seen many a great race in Ulverton and in 2016, it was much of the same. After some intense battles in both classes, Yamaha riders Matt Goerke and Dylan Wright took home the victories. As always, James Lissimore was there and sent in this photo report. Now it’s time to keep heading east to Truro, NS for round 7 of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals.

One of Quebec’s favourite motocross riders of all time Carl Vaillancourt made his way out to Ulverton to check out some racing.

After his first moto holeshot, Cade Clason had to deal with some very fast riders behind him.

It was great to see some new riders up front in Ulverton

MX2 points leader Cole Thompson had a mixed day in Ulverton. In his head, he won both motos, but on paper he finished third overall because of a penalty for leaving the track and not returning quick enough.

Even though he finished third overall for the day, he was still a winner in the eyes of his girlfriend Chloe.

Cole was forced to make an aggressive pass on Dylan Wright in the closing stages of moto 2. However, it was all for not as Cole’s penalty voided his pretty cool pass.

With his elbows up, Millsaps floats over one of the many hills in Ulverton.

So far in the east, Dylan Wright has made a habit of being on the podium. Congratulations to Dylan on his very first overall National win.

There were many battles in both classes at round 6.

Murph’ makes sure every rider is ready to go in the MX2 class. From here, he grabs the blue flag and goes to work.

Maybe one of the best shots to come out of round 6 as Metty show us that he can scrub with the best of them. No wonder he won moto 2 with this level of style.

Another hard day at work for Metty and all of the other riders at Ulverton.

The orange train was definitely chugging along in Ulverton.

Just like the MX1 class, the riders in the MX2 class were never far apart.

This was how close the MX1 riders were in the opening moto. One mistake and you could lose three spots.

Since the east began two weeks ago, defending Champion Matt Goerke has won both overalls in the MX1 class and is definitely making another run at this title.

Very few riders try harder each weekend than Shawn Maffenbeier. In Ulverton he went 2-2 and ended up in second overall.

The circuit in Ulverton is definitely a beautiful throwback to how motocross used to be years ago. This track hasn’t really changed in 40 years!
