MICA SPORT CANADA INC, Bracebridge, ON; This weekend marked the first round of the East Coast, round #5 for the Monster Energy Pro Canadian Nationals at Gopher Dunes. Gopher is known as one of the toughest tracks in Canada, if not North America. If the soft sand was not enough of a challenge, the 108 degree or 41 Celsius humidity proved to be the breaking point for some riders.
The Scott Sports team of riders showed the crowd that they had what it takes to be a top. Josh Clark (Scott Eyewear Athlete) proving to be the most consistent rider in MX2 finished 4OA on the day putting him into 3rd overall for the series. Brad Nauditt (Scott Eyewear Athlete) although super consistent had a rough day falling back to 4th OA in the series. The rider who stood out the most was MX2 title contender #13 Topher Ingalls who not only grabbed both Holeshots but let the entire first moto end to end. In moto number two, Topher started very similar to moto number one with grabbing the Holeshot and showing just how fast he really is, however by the halfway point Topher was passed by Wentland and ended in second finishing 1-2 on the day, gave him a 1st overall. This was Ingalls first ever win in Canada. Topher now sits in second place overall in the series only two points in front of Josh Clark who is 2 points in front of Brad Nauditt.
“Being out at the race watching Topher take both holeshots and the overall made the heat a little more bearable. Topher had a bad race before the break so for him to bounce back and take a win shows just how good of a rider he really is.” Davis Brode Marketing coordinator
