The 3 Q’s With Ryan Lockhart Presented By Atlas Brace Canada

Let’s all hope that everyone remains healthy in the 450 class and we have a great summer of racing in the USA!

MXP: Hey Newf! We are currently only a few days away from the opening round of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championships at Fox Raceway. Who do you think wins this weekend in the 250 and 450 class?

RL: I will probably sound like a broken record, but how do you bet against Haiden Deegan and Jett Lawrence? I guess the only question is how healthy is Jett? Either way, I’m looking forward to watching, especially with everyone back in the 450 class. I think Eli will be hungry as well, but Fox Raceway is not your traditional MX track, and I’m not sure it suits Eli. I really hope everyone remains healthy and we see a great series and good racing all summer.

MXP: This weekend is the famous Riviere Du Loup AX in Quebec. You’ve raced this event multiple times over the years. What do you remember the most about this race, and what was your best result?

RL: Oh man, the best race of the year (laughs). I remember a lot of things, probably some we can’t talk about on here that’s for sure. But all joking aside, it’s a race that every pro should experience once in their career. The crowd is so into the event and the entire town rolls out the red carpet for the riders, which makes it super fun. I never did win the overall there but I did come super close. I have stood on the podium several times with some greats like JSR and Marco Dube. I may not have won a main event at RDL, but I have some incredible memories. Please talk Paul (Thibault) into having us all back for one last Legends race.

MXP: The countdown is officially on as the opening round of the 2025 Triple Crown Series is just over a week away. What are you excited about the most as we kick off the series at Wild Rose MX Park in Calgary?

RL: Round one is always exciting to see where everyone stacks up, and who has put in the work over the winter. There is no better feeling than standing there when the bikes hit the track in the first practice. While it’s exciting, it’s also nerve-racking from a team standpoint. A lot of work goes into it, but at the end of the day it’s racing and we want to be at the top. I’m very excited for this year, maybe even more so than in years past as both classes have a deep field. The racing will be great, and I looked at the weather forecast and it looks perfect as well.
