Don't Miss

‘Tis the Season with Kris Keefer

tis-the-season

Have you ever wondered what people in the Canadian motocross industry think about Christmas? Well, wonder no more as over the next few weeks we’re going to reach to some pro riders and industry people to ask them some key festive questions. After speaking to Ryan Lockhart, Brett Metcalfe and Walton Raceway’s Brett Lee, we now head south of the border again to speak with Kris Keefer from California. Kris is the Associate Editor at Dirt Rider Magazine as well as a very accomplished test rider. He’s also spent some time racing in Canada for the KTM Canada team. This guy has done it all in the industry and it’s time to see how he feels about the holiday season.

MXP: What is your best Christmas memory as a child?

KK: Of course getting a dirt bike at the age of six. I woke up super early and saw a YZinger underneath the tree!
Are you a big Christmas person or not?

Sure, I like Christmas time. Everyone seems a little nicer and I like seeing my family around this time as well.

Where will you be spending Christmas this year?

I will be spending the holidays at home with my wife and my son. There’s no place I would rather be!
Best Christmas gift you ever received?

I received a Cervelo R3 road bike from my wife a couple years ago. That was a great gift!
Have you even started your Christmas shopping yet?

Oh yeah! I’m done!
Would you rather race another Regina mudder or have to go to Wal-Mart on Christmas Eve?

I would rather race any day, it doesn’t matter where or what conditions…as long as it wasn’t a bike that I bought!
What do you want for Christmas this year?

That’s a tough one. As I get older I really don’t want anything. If I had to choose I guess it would be a new Sprinter van.
What is your favourite Christmas movie?

Christmas vacation of course! Come on, that’s not even close! Cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid) is a bad dude! “Morning! Shitter’s full!”

Keefer’s smooth style and awareness of what a bike is doing has made him one of the most sought after test riders in the sport.

Be honest, do you wrap present yourself?

Yes! But you can always tell the presents I wrapped under the tree.
If you ever came face to face with Santa what would you ask him?

If I ever saw Santa I would tell him to bring more presents for my son Aden so I don’t have to buy so many! Hook a brother up Santa!
