Have you ever wondered what people in the Canadian motocross industry think about Christmas? Well, wonder no more as over the next 23 days we’re going to reach out to some pro riders and industry people to ask them some key festive questions. This week we caught up with the Medaglia brothers. Here is what Tyler had to say, and stay tuned until Thursday when it’s Jeremy’s turn.
MXP: What is your best Christmas memory as a child?
TM: My best Christmas memory would be watching Talon open his PW last year. That was special because I remember that feeling when I got my first bike as a surprise.
Are you a big Christmas person or not?
Yes, I am a big Christmas person. I love the lights and all the positive energy it brings. I get to spend time with family and eat guilt free for a brief period.
Where will you be spending Christmas this year?
I will be spending Christmas in Ottawa. We’ll do breakfast and presents at our house in Brookfield, NS then fly to Ottawa on Christmas Day.
What is the best Christmas gift you ever received?
My best present ever … that’s a good question as I’ve had a lot of great ones. I’ve been playing my Fender Jazz bass guitar since 2003 and still play it regularly so that was what first comes to mind.
After reading Tyler’s answers it’s clear that he is a huge fan of the Christmas season.
Have you even started your Christmas shopping yet?
Yes, I’m actually done my Christmas shopping. As of today the last thing would be to finish Heidi’s stocking.
Would you rather race another Regina mudder or shop at Wal Mart on Christmas Eve?
I would do a Regina mudder ten times over than go to Wal Mart at any time, let alone Christmas Eve. I hate what that company represents.
What do you want for Christmas this year?
This year I am asking for a few components for my road bike. It’s a tall ask though, that stuff is pricey. I hope Santa is in a good mood.
What is your favourite Christmas movie?
We were actually just discussing our favourite Christmas movie last night. I love Elf, it’ a masterpiece.
Be honest, do you wrap presents yourself?
I do wrap all my present; it’s part of it. They may not be pretty but I get them done.
If you ever came face to face with Santa, what would you ask him?
If I were to come face to face with Santa I would ask what his favourite kind of cookie is. That says a lot about a person.
