Raymond, AB (May 31, 2012) When the Western Canadian Amateur National Motocross Championships return to the Temple Hill Motorcycle Park, the biggest and most prestigious motocross event in Western Canada will be underway.
June 27 thru 30 are the dates; with an open practice on Wednesday, Motos 1 & 2 on Thursday/Friday and the finals on Saturday. Presented by Inside Moto X and Off Road magazine and hosted by the Lethbridge Motorcycle Club, the event will challenge the racers with everything from extreme temperatures, varying track conditions and the best competition they will see all season.
Qualifying races held across Canada have allowed the best Amateur riders, aged 4 to 60 years old, to enter this event. Watch the thrills and spills of the 50cc Pee Wees right up to the 450cc Pros, dirt bikes and ATV’s. The excitement level for the upcoming event is high as the athletes are ready to do battle to see who will take home the Championship trophies.
With over 700 entries expected, the action will dictate “The Best in the West” with competitors from Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. See dirt bike and ATV racing at their best.

KERMAXX SILVER SPROCKET AWARD
It’s a new year in Canadian motocross and with a new year comes new racing and even some traditions! Along with Kermaxx Performance Accessories, the Lethbridge Motorcycle Club is pleased to announce the continuation of the most prestigious award of the Western Amateur Canadian National; the “Kermaxx Silver Sprocket Award!”
The Kermaxx Silver sprocket award will be awarded at the WCAN to the rider that earns the most points during the event in up to three of the following classes*:
85cc (12 – 16 years)
Super Mini
School Boy
MX2 (125cc) Junior A
MX1 (250cc) Junior
MX3 (GP) Junior A
MX2 (125cc) Intermediate
MX1 (250cc) Intermediate
MX3 (GP) Intermediate

* For the Amateur MX2 classes only, the maximum displacement for two-strokes will be increased to 250cc. The two-stroke displacement rule for the MX1 class will not change; therefore Amateurs may compete in both the MX2 and MX1 classes with a 250 two-stroke motorcycle.
