Hello MXP readers,
As I write this I’m only a few days away from the beginning of the 2016 Mini Olympics, which take place at the most famous track in Florida, Gatorback Cycle Park. I have been working hard for the past month and now I’m ready to see where I stand. I’ve been mostly training at Georgia Practice Facility, but last week I travelled over to County Line Raceway where my Moto Park crew has now set up shop. There is now a redesigned outdoor track there with a lot of ruts, and a challenging AX track for all levels. I had a wonderful time and it was great to see my team and my friends. Iain Hayden and the boys have done a ton of work to the track and the facility, it’s definitely going to be great winter of riding there.
For the past few weeks things have been a little different for me as I’ve been by myself. My mom, whom had been staying with me, had to go home. I’ve had no one to cook for me, or do my laundry, or even watch me ride. So yes, I’m saying it out loud again, making it in this sport certainly takes a supportive family. I have definitely learned to appreciate just how much my family does for me and it makes me realize how much more work is involved when you are not just the athlete. You are also your own mechanic, cook, teacher and more.
Well, after saying all that, I am so happy to report that my dad arrived today to help me out. With the Mini O’s coming up it’s time to test my race bike to make sure everything is good to go. Matt Crown is here also and we are testing my suspension. As I get older and more experienced, I’m beginning to learn how to test my bike and what exactly goes into it. Obviously, testing is a huge part of racing now, so the sooner I learn how to do this, the better. I definitely had a great stay at GPF, it was awesome to practice with fast riders and I really appreciate the support from Josh Woods. I’d also like to thank the Cemovic family for all the help and the great dinners they have provided me during my stay at GPF. So after today, it’s time to pack up and move on to Gatorback to try and kick some Canadian butt. Please wish me luck and thanks for reading.
Thanks Marco Cannella

It was great to watch Matt Goerke ride on the brand new MP County Line AX track. The Moto Park crew have done a great job with the entire facility.
