MXP: Hey Newf! You’ve now returned from your summer trip to the East, and now we’re back in business with the Atlas Brace 3 Q’s. Overall, how was your family motocation this summer?

RL: Back home and back to reality. It was a great summer with the family. Both my boys had a blast riding all the East Coast tracks, and hanging out with their East Coast friends. I think, like any long trip, we were all ready to come home, but after a week at home, we are all wanting to go back. The trip is a big commitment for all of us, but man, the memories are priceless! Hopefully, we can continue to keep it going in 2026.

MXP: We all watched the final round of the Triple Crown Series and the exciting final moto. In the end, were you at all surprised that Phil Nicoletti was able to pull off the 450 title over Tanner Ward?

RL: Am I surprised? No. With all the craziness that went down with Dylan and Jess, old Phil was there week in and week out to pick up the pieces. He never really had a moment in the eight rounds that cost him on the points side, and I just think with the way everything played out in the end, he was in control and also wasn’t willing to get out of his comfort zone. I will say that Tanner was impressive at Walton, and it really started to get interesting a few laps into Moto Two, but then his big crash happened. I give Tanner credit cause he left it all on the track.

MXP: The final question this week is about MXON and Team Canada. Are you happy with who is on our team, and how do you see them finishing at Ironman Raceway in October?

RL: Good team for sure. I mean, the question from everyone is, why isn’t Dylan Wright on the team? Well, I do see it from both sides, and yes, some or many may not agree, but the team is picked, and it’s time to move on. I hope that Tanner and Sebastian can bring their very best to Ironman. Jess is going to have the pressure on him to perform, but I think they will squeeze into the A final. All we can hope for is a little luck and the boys to be the best version of themselves.
