After months of anticipation, the opening round of the 2017 Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals are upon us. All of the numerous riders and teams have now made their way to Whispering Pines Raceway in beautiful Kamloops, BC. Friday’s at the track are always quiet as the teams get themselves parked and work away at getting their pit set up. Once again, James Lissimore is back and taking part in his 12th season of covering every aspect of our Canadian Nationals. Here are a few photos from Friday at the opening round.

The track at Whispering Pines is sandy and surrounded by some of the most beautiful BC landscape.
Last year the excitement surrounded Davi Millsaps and his introduction to the Canadian series, this summer all eyes will be on Christophe Pourcel and his Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Team.
There is also another new team as the Royal Distributing/ Motovan/ Piller’s Racing presented by Huber Motorsports racing rig has arrived in Kamloops.
The pro paddock is coming along nicely at Whispering Pines.
The MX101 FXR Yamaha Team is primed and ready to win in 2017. Remember, their newest team member Shawn Maffenbeier took the win last year in Kamloops.

Last year Dylan Wright won the opening MX2 moto in Kamloops. In 2017, Dylan no doubt hopes to do the same on his new Honda Canada GDR Fox Racing Honda.
