It was another good round for the Monster Energy Kawasaki Pro Circuit team, who were back at Walton Raceway for the second weekend in a row. Despite weather delays and some of the muddiest conditions we have experienced in years, all three riders were able to leave the track with positive results. |

Marshal Weltin went through some highs and lows but concluded his weekend with a well-deserved podium and moto win. After two successful rounds, Marshal was sitting 2nd in the 250 championship and was looking forward to working towards the lead. The 40mm of rain that fell on Sunday morning threw a lot of uncertainties in the mix but didn’t stop Weltin from giving all he had to go for the win. When the first gate-drop finally happened on Sunday, the #19 did not get the start he badly needed and ended up buried in mud, in 22nd place. Within 2 laps he had already made it up to the 12th position and kept pushing his bike through the thick, quicksand dirt until he reached the top-3. “I rode my bike way too hard for a mud moto” said Marshal, when on the last lap he unfortunately had to abandon his progress and settle for 8th. The second moto was a completely different story and Weltin was able to put his KX 250 in the top-5 right off the gate and cruised to a 1st place finish to secure 3rd place overall on the day. |

In the 450 class, Matt Goerke also had to battle through tough conditions, but didn’t let it stop him from keeping consistent results and staying close to the leading pack at all times. In the first moto, Matt got a good jump out of the gate and found himself in 4th place. Within a few laps, Goerke put his KX 450 in the top-3 and kept it there for 10 additional laps, all the way to the checkered flag. Matt got another good start in the 2nd moto and was able to run within the top-3, until he made a small mistake near the end, making him fall back to 5th. His 3-5 results gave him 4th overall on the day and left him in 3rd position in the 450 championship. |

Tyler Medaglia came in to round 3 with a lot of expectations. The weather made everything a little more difficult, but nothing was going to stop him from giving his 100%. In the first moto, Tyler started in 6th place and battled with the competition, moving up and down positions until he got the checkered flag in 5th place. The 2nd moto was a different story and ended up being quite the eventful race. After a bad start, Medaglia was able to bring his KX 450 back towards the front of the pack, but then found the ground after an entanglement with a slower rider. From there, Tyler got back up and unfortunately crashed again a few laps later, to then hit the mud a third time later in the moto. All-in-all, the #5 Kawasaki rider was able to make his way up to 4th position but will have to settle with 7th place following a race decision. His 5-7 results gave him a 6th overall on the day and keeps him in 4th in the 450 championship. |
