This past weekend was the first race of the season at Sand-Del-Lee / MX101 and it was a ANQ.
It was awesome weather and even a little hot for some riders. There was a really good turnout of riders both days, and nice to see everyone.
I heard lots of talk about transponders and all I say is they are awesome! I have used them since i started racing and they give you lots of info and fast results and my grandparents were away but could watch and see how my races were going lap after lap live on the link from www.MX101.ca or you could watch on your smartphone.
Practice and training leading up to this weekend was great and my Wheelsport KTM 65SXS with Nihilo parts are fast but it was Race time now!
The MX101 crew put lots of work in and the track was great, but its SDL and it will get rough moto after moto.
I raced 65 7-9 where I pulled the holeshot both motos each day and rode up to 2nd place in the older 65 class that started 30 sec ahead. I am not sure if it was my ATLAS brace and OAKLEY goggles or KTM and OAKLEY goggles that gave me the powers of RV1 or RD5! Lol! I took 1st both days!
I also lined up to the big bikes, no not next to Jeremy Medaglia’s 450 big bike but the 85s. I got great starts almost grabbing the holeshot award in 2 motos and battled in the top 5 taking 3rd overall both days.
Now its time to practice and train for the next race!
