We definitely think there was a feeling in the paddock this past weekend of everyone wondering where the summer has gone? With eight exciting rounds in the books, the 2018 Rockstar Energy Triple Crown MXTour Series is now down to just two motos left in each class. So with the 250 Pro/Am and 450 titles on the line in the coming weeks, we can look back at Round 8 from Deschambault. Interestingly enough we saw the same two riders win this past weekend as we did the weekend before in Moncton. Both Joey Crown and Cole Thompson rode very smooth in the sand of the Deschambault track to win the overalls. As he’s been all summer long, James Lissimore takes us through what happened in Quebec for this week’s Yamaha Motor Canada Behind the Lens.

Sunday morning in Quebec started off overcast with some light mist in the air. However, by mid-morning the sun had come out and it got very hot.

Kaven Benoit brought the Quebec crowd to its feet on Sunday as he grabbed the first moto win in the 450 class.

After a frustrating opening moto, 450 points leader Colton Facciotti came back in Moto 2 and took the win.

Joey Crown had another great weekend and now trails Jess Pettis by just three points in the chase for the 250 championship.

Joey Crown led wire to wire in Moto 2 and grabbed another moto win as well as the overall for the day.

Dillan Epstein had a great opening moto in Quebec, but unfortunately he crashed hard in Moto 2 and wasn’t able to finish.

After his fifth overall at Deschambault, Matt Goerke now sits 34 points out of the lead in the 450 class.

Shawn Maffenbeier didn’t have a great day at Round 8 and now trails Jess Pettis by 24 points in the 250 points chase.

Tyler Medaglia most likely won’t win the 450 MXTour title this summer, but he’s sure had a good series.

Once again Cole Thompson was the most consistent rider in the 450 class and grabbed the overall win.
