As the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross Series made its way to Glendale for Round 2, all eyes were on Blu Cru riders Colt Nichols and Justin Barcia to see if they could repeat their opening round heroics. Both riders looked great at Anaheim 1, but as they quickly learned, the Glendale track would be night and day different. While the opening round was muddy, rutted and slow, the track inside State Farm Stadium was dry, hard packed and ultra-fast; a challenging contrast indeed. But these are the best SX riders in the world so they can adapt to what track conditions they face each weekend. What we ended up seeing at Round 2 was two new winners as Adam Cianciarulo and Blake Baggett grabbed their first victories of 2019. As he was at Anaheim 1, James Lissimore was once again trackside to bring us this week’s Yamaha Motor Canada Behind the Lens.

Will his solid riding and big win in Glendale transform Blake Baggett into a championship favourite in 2019?

Unlike the opening round when Barcia was out front, in Glendale he had to battle back from a so-so start.

Ken Roczen and Marvin Musquin each take a different route through the technical Glendale rhythm section.

After a great heat race, Chad Reed didn’t get off to a great start in the main event and had trouble catching up.

After a solid opening round, Ken Roczen came into Glendale focused on winning his first main event of 2019.

State Farm Stadium in Glendale was a great host for Round 2 of the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross Series.

After some great riding in the early part of the main event, Malcolm Stewart crashed hard in the whoops and ended up breaking his femur.
