After a long season of intense racing, the 2019 Rockstar Energy Triple Crown Series finally wrapped up at First Ontario Centre in Hamilton. With a very unique track design that used a section that ran under the stands, the riders battled hard during their final race of the year. In the 450 class, it was Phil Nicoletti who was the main focus as he came into Hamilton with a 27 point lead in the Triple Crown Series. All Phil had to do was make it to the night show in order to score enough points to dethrone last year’s champion Cole Thompson. Nicoletti would do that and more as he glided to second overall in the main event. When all was said and done :Phil will take home the Triple Crown Title and the big $100,000 prize that went with it.
In the 250 class, Dylan Wright finished off his glorious year in style as he won the main event as well as the 250 Triple Crown Championship. MX101 FXR Racing Yamaha rider Luke Renzland rode smooth in the last three indoor races and he would win the 250 SXTour title for the Blu Cru. It was a great night of racing and now we can sit back, relfect, and then begin to look forward to 2020. To celebrate the final round here are some James Lissimore photos from the Hamilton SX.
