Yamaha Motor Canada Presents Behind the Lens From Oakland

Now that we’re four rounds into the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross Series, it’s definitely becoming clear who are the top riders in each class. In the 450SX class, the Red Bull KTM teammates of Cooper Webb and Marvin Musquin appear to have the speed and confidence to run up front on a weekly basis. In Oakland, these two riders were once again smooth and precise on the technical Oakland track as they cruised to a one-two finish. Webb’s victory at Round 4 makes him the first rider to win twice so far in 2019. Can he now go from a main event winner to a rider who might be able to contend for the championship?

In the 250SX class, it was Adam Cianciarulo who finally kept his Kawasaki on two wheels to take his second win in 2019. Behind him was the blue wave of Colt Nichols and Dylan Ferrandis, two riders that are riding better than they ever have. With just one more round now until the 250SX West Series takes a long break, this coming weekend in San Diego will be a very pivotal race.

Jess Pettis had a mixed evening in Oakland as he not only qualified directly to the main event from his heat race but he was also able to lead some laps and have his name at the top of the leader board. In the main event, Pettis had some issues early on and almost dropped back to last. However, he then put on a massive charge to eventually finish in eleventh. Pettis has had a solid start to the 250SX series, and with some rain in the forecast for San Diego this weekend, he will be eager to show the world his talent in the mud. Once again, James Lissimore was on hand in Oakland to provide us with these amazing photos for this week’s Yamaha Motor Canada Behind the Lens.
