Yamaha Motor Canada Presents Behind the Lens From the Can-Am Challenge
As the final weekend of the summer has now come and gone, we’re sure that a lot of you this morning watched many of our young riders exchange their dirt bikes in for some pencils and erasers. Yes, after a long summer of motocross fun, it’s now time to head back to school for some all-important education. For this week’s Yamaha Motor Canada Behind the Lens, we take a look at a few photos from both the Can-Am Challenge at Area 51 in New York State, as well as the Baja Brawl at Baja Acres in Michigan.
While the Can-Am Challenge is a two day event that took place on Saturday and Sunday, the Baja Brawl is a three day race that ran into Monday afternoon. Both races have been frequented by our Canadian riders for many years, and in that time more than a few have ended up on the top step of the podium. To celebrate this past weekend, as well as our kids’ first day back at school, here are some photos from Summer Denzler for this week’s Yamaha Motor Canada Behind the Lens.
At the least the weekend started off with blue skies at Area 51.
Two riders with the same number? Thank god for transponders.
Our Canadian riders were stylish all weekend in New York.
The Area 51 track is a riders favourite with elevation changes and lots of ruts.
Yes, the Area 51 track has some big jumps also.
Even though it wasn’t whip it Wednesday, riders at Area 51 weren’t afraid to throw it sideways.
And then the rains came. Sadly the racing on Sunday started out a little muddy.
Just turn the wheel and pin it!
The new FXR Racing gear is so bright that it even stands out in the mud.
Even in the muddy conditions it was great to see the Canadian flag shining bright.
The Area 51 track allowed the riders to really carry speed through the turns.
Switching from Area 51 to Baja Acres. Obviously the kids were very excited to see the infamous Ronnie Mac on the starting line for the first Pro-Am moto.
Baja Acres is one of the toughest and the most beautiful tracks in North America.
