Behind the Lens From the 2018 FXR Ride Day

Two days after their first home Province national in almost a decade, over 100 of FXR Racing Athletes, employees, media, and a few loyal followers gathered for the 2018 FXR Ride Day at the home track of the man behind this iconic brand, Milt Reimer. Just like the FXR brand, this event seems to get bigger and bigger as more and more people want to be a part of the festivities. This year was a little extra special as it was held just after Round 4 of the 2018 Rockstar Energy Triple Crown MXTour in Manitoba. With the FXR Race Team having raced on Saturday, it was easy to make the drive to Milt’s incredible riding facility.

This awesome day started off with fast but fun motos by FXR’s top athletes Mike Brown, Jimmy Decotis, Brock Hoyer, and the entire MX101 FXR Yamaha Race Team, which included Jess Pettis, rookie sensation Marco Cannella, and Hayden Halstead. After some motos in the morning on the perfectly prepared track, lunch was served and it was time for everyone to do their favourite off track pastime, bench race. With some great food and good laughs had by all, everyone hit the track again in the afternoon. It was cool to not only see top riders like Mike Brown, Jess Pettis, and Jimmy Decotis out on the track, but also to see FXR’s head man Milt Reimer burn more gas than anyone else. It was an incredible day and one that we will profile in the upcoming issue of MXP Magazine. When everyone arrived in the morning the track was in perfect condition.

The only thing in better shape than the track was Hayden Halstead’s hair.

The man who started FXR, Milt Reimer was also geared up and ready to ride.

Just like at any big riding event, the day began with a riders meeting.

Fresh off his great ride at Round 4 of the Triple Crown Series two days before, the legendary Mike Brown was on hand to ride with everyone.

One of the most entertaining parts of the day was watching Jess Pettis rip some very fast laps.

All of the riders enjoyed the track, as well as the surrounding Manitoba scenery.

After sitting out the past few months of the USA race season with some health issues, it was great to see Jimmy Decotis back on the track, and back in Canada.

The last time Brock Hoyer attended an FXR event he was riding a snow bike. This time Hoyer was riding his trusty YZF450 and he looked great.

It’s not everyday in Canada that you get to see Jimmy Decotis and Mike Brown on the same track.

As you can see in this photo, the FXR Ride is getting bigger each and every year.
