After a month of anticipation, the 2019 Rockstar Energy Triple Crown Series was released late last week. With 15 events over the course of seven months, it’s a slightly shorter and more condensed schedule than it was in 2018. However, with the trifecta of arenacross, motocross and supercross, the new 2019 version promises to have the same excitement and the same great racing as we saw last year.
Instead of beginning in late February as it did in 2018, this season the first AXTour event is not until early April. This will all but guarantee that track conditions inside the Abbotsford Centre will be 100% better than they were in 2018, as well as the weather outside. From Abbotsford, the AXTour series moves east to Calgary and perhaps the best indoor venue for this sport in Canada. The Nutrien Western Event Centre in downtown Calgary always hosts some great racing. With this race being held on April 13th, spring should be in the air, which should make Round 2 more attractive to spectators.
With the western rounds complete, the series moves east to Ontario with rounds in Sarnia and Barrie. With the Sarnia race being one of the best attended of the season last year, it’s definitely going to be exciting to return to the city on the St. Clair River. The weekend after Sarnia, the AXTour Series wraps up at the Molson Centre in Barrie, ON. This new May 4th date should secure this event a little dryer soil as well as more spectators. All in the all, the 2019 AXTour events look good and they should provide some exciting indoor racing to kick-off the Rockstar Energy Triple Crown Series.

With the first series complete, we will then turn our attention outdoors where the tracks in Calgary, Prince George and Minnedosa will highlight the Western Canadian stops. Last year all three venues had incredible battles in the 250, 450, and Women’s classes. With a solid line-up of riders, the 2019 MXTour Series will most certainly be one of the most exciting we’ve ever seen. From there, the MXT our series heads east to a few of the most challenging tracks on the planet. Five rounds in sand, heat, humidity, deep ruts, possibly rain, and just about everything else the motocross gods can throw at the riders, these final quintuplets of outdoor races will test each and every rider.
With the MXTour complete, we will focus our attention to the final three SXTour events of 2019. The location of the opening round is a TBD so we’ll wait for that to be announced. Round 2 will return to Quebec City, and the final race of 2019 will take place at the First Ontario Centre in Hamilton. Once again, the Rockstar Energy Triple Crown Series Champion and the $100,000 pay cheque will be handed out. Last year it was Cole Thompson; we cannot wait to see who will take the grand prize in 2019. So, make your travel plans and get ready. The opening round of the 2019 Rockstar Energy Triple Crown Series is less than three months away. See you at the races!
