MXP: Hey Newf, can you first talk about how your family riding trip to Horn Rapids was?

RL: It was great to get away for the weekend with the family and get some riding in. The weather was great, the track was perfect so all in all it was a success. Meston put over 5 hours on his bike in 3 days and I burnt about 8 gallons of gas (laughs). Randi even got to do some shopping and Bowen enjoyed playing outdoors. Whispering Pines is opening this weekend along with bear creek in Kelowna so that good news. We hope to get up to Kamloops for a weekend before our first race.

Newf loves that Parker Eales decided to race the Seattle SX and the fact that he made the night show was just icing on the cake.

MXP: Let’s talk about Parker Eales. You’re a big fan, I’m a big fan, heck everyone is a big fan of this guy. Overall, how did you think his race in Seattle went?

RL: I mean the fact that he gave it a go was a win in my eyes. He spent his own money, got suspension done, and went for it. My expectations were fairly low since he has little to no SX experience but I think he rode fairly well. He wasn’t the slowest guy out there and the fact that he was able to race in the night show under the lights was an experience he will never forget. Sounds like he’s into doing more in the future.

Whispering Pines Raceway will be the place to be in early June!

MXP: The SX Series takes a well-deserved break this weekend so we don’t need to talk about that. So let’s look ahead to the WCAN and the opening round of the Triple Crown Series at Whispering Pines Raceway in early June. This is looking like it could be a very cool weekend of racing. What are your thoughts on this exciting moto weekend in BC?

RL: I think it’s the perfect way to get the summer going. I have always been a believer in tying amateur nationals and pro nationals together as I feel they both feed off one another. I think we will have a record turnout for the WCAN which will help the attendance for the National. I also think we will see lots of the pros taking advantage of our pro-am class to get familiar with the whispering pines track. All in all, I think it’s going to be a great weekend and big kick-off to our summer MX season!
