MXP: Hey Newf! What are your thoughts on the Seattle SX last weekend? Tomac was in a must-win situation, and in true Tomac fashion, he was able to get it done.

RL: Once again, it was an exciting, unpredictable race that was awesome to watch. Sexton has to be scratching his head even more after that weird crash, and perhaps it’s time that he looks at his bike hard to see what’s going on. I really feel like this Tomac and Webb battle will continue as far as the points battle goes, and I love it.

MXP: In keeping with the 450SX class in Supercross. As you mentioned, this series has become a two-man battle for the 2023 title. With six rounds remaining, who do you like for the 450SX Championship?

RL: This is almost impossible to answer. Both guys have their strengths and weaknesses. With what’s ahead, this battle will go back and forth as far as points. There is a triple crown race next week in Glendale, which Eli is really good at. Then we have a speedway track in Atlanta which Webb is good at. If I have to pick right now, Tomac has an edge, but that can change if he has one more of his weirdo races.

MXP: The opening round of the Future West MX Series is coming up next weekend. How are things looking heading into the first race of 2023?

RL: Everything is positive right now. The Future West team is ready and looking forward to a good opening round. This past Tuesday was opening night at Mission Raceway, and there was a huge turnout. Over 140 individual riders showed up. Our fingers are crossed for good weather; as of right now, it looks okay and keeps changing for the better. One thing for sure is it’s going to be a very challenging Round 1 as the track will be really rough. So hopefully, everyone has done their work in the off-season.
