Yamaha Motor Canada Presents Prince George Preview

Anytime there is a new venue in any series, it always brings with it a certain amount of added excitement. For years, the Wastelands track in Nanaimo, BC was a great host for the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals, first as the series opening round and then most recently as Round 2. However, like all things in life, 2017 was a time for change, and for the first time ever this 25-year-old series is traveling further north than ever before to Prince George, BC.

To say that the Prince George area has been dying to get a Canadian National would be a gross understatement. This city is a true powersports mecca with four seasons of fun guaranteed in the calendar year. People in Prince George spend their days either boating, snowmobiling, off-road riding, and of course riding dirt bikes on the multiple tracks in the area. One of these tracks is the Blackwater MX Track located just outside the city limits. This track is an ideal track for viewing by spectators as it sits on the side of a large hill. This weekend fans will be able to follow their favourite pro riders on 95% of the track, only losing sight of them for a few seconds. This will make for an exciting atmosphere both on and off the track on Sunday. With perfect racing weather in the forecast, this new track will undoubtedly produce some incredible race action at Round 2 of the 2017 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals. So as we say goodbye for now and thank you to the Wastelands track in Nanaimo for being such a gracious host to this series, we welcome the Blackwater track and look forward to meeting everyone in Prince George.
