2022 Calgary Arenacross- It Was A Wild Weekend In Cowtown

Well, after five exciting months the 2022 Triple Crown Series is now complete. This weekend the fans in Calgary were treated to some incredible racing to cap off what has been an amazing season in Canadian Motocross. In the end, it was Mitchell Harrison who rode smooth, smart, and fast in Calgary to secure his first-ever 250 Triple Crown Series Championship. It’s been quite a year for the USA rider here in Canada as he really embraced our culture and enjoyed every minute of being here. Harrison not only won the Triple Crown Series Championship this year but he also announced a few weeks ago that he will be back for at least two more seasons. This is great news for the series as well as for the fans!

This weekend Calgary also welcomed back Jess Pettis who had been out with injuries since mid-June. Pettis was fast in Calgary this weekend as he took home a main event victory on Friday night as well as several second-place finishes. Unfortunately, Pettis had a nasty crash in the Superfinal on Saturday and left the arena feeling pretty beat up. Pettis will now head over to Germany this week for the opening round of the German SX Series. Other riders who rode well this weekend in Calgary were Quinn Amyotte, Westen Wrozyna, and young Blake Davies who grabbed a solid 4th place finish on Saturday night in the 250 main event. It was a great weekend of racing in Calgary and it was encouraging to see so many fans come out to cheer on their favourite riders. There was also a massive amateur turnout on both days as every class was full. Yes, AX is alive and well in Western Canada and the city of Calgary was the perfect place to end a solid 2022 Triple Crown Series.
