Last week we shared with you a video featuring one of our dynamic warm-ups. We have 3-4 variation’s of the dynamic warm-up, and we spend a lot of time going through these with our clients. I get asked a lot about variation, and why do only 3-4. Well this allows me as a coach to watch movements over and over again, in the same order, if the athlete or client is tight or we see a difference in how they are moving we can then stop an asses what’s going on. Another important part that I think athletes and coaches miss out on is during the warm-up this is the time where the athlete needs to block out noise, and focus on how they are feeling. How they are moving as they prepare for a workout, riding or a race. Having a few warm-up that they know like the back of tier hands, allows them to focus, and not having to worry about some new routine.
Activations, these follow the dynamic and are based on the needs of the client and what activity, workout they are going to be doing next.
Here we have a video showing one of my favourite activation’s for Motocross riders, as a lot of moto athletes have tight hips, and lack mobility in the thoracic spine.
