MXP: Tuesday was an exciting day in Canadian MX as the 2024 Triple Crown Series Schedule was released. Overall, are you happy with how it turned out?
KT: Yes and no. We are disappointed to be missing out on BC; that region has so much talent in the pro and amateur classes that we need to keep a National in that region. After some lengthy chats with Lesley Reid of Future West, we devised a plan to come back strong in 2025, which also would see the WCAN back in BC next year. After that, we alternate back and forth between BC and Alberta for WCAN. Other than that, I’m excited for the return of both Lethbridge and Pilot Mound tracks; those will easily be some rider’s favorites.

MXP: The 2024 Triple Crown Series will kick off at one of Canada’s coolest riding and racing facilities. How were you able to secure the opening round at Wild Rose MX Park in Calgary?
Dustin and his crew are very accommodating when it comes to having the National at their facility, and the regions are willing to adjust their schedule to be sure it’s not overlapping. The biggest thing for us is being in a good area and at a great venue for the start of the year’s media, press conferences, etc.
MXP: So last year, we had a new venue on the schedule up in Edmonton, and now, for 2024, we’re heading south to Lethbridge. We know the series has been to Temple Hill years ago, and the racing was always entertaining. How were you able to get this track back in the Triple Crown Series Schedule?
We are excited about this one as Temple Hill is a very cool track, and working with Carry Stevenson has been amazing. We enjoy working with new people in the industry, and a facility like theirs will be a significant addition to our series. The track layout is solid, the venue has great parking, and it’s close to many amenities.
MXP: So, as you mentioned above, the plan is to return to the Kamloops track in 2025 and possibly go to nine outdoor rounds?
As I said, it’s a big disappointment, but yes, we will be back, and we greatly appreciate the BC Region. We would love to expand the Triple Crown Series to nine rounds in 2025. The timing just has to be right with regard to the teams, the riders, and our series sponsors.

MXP: Everyone is excited, as the 2024 series looks great. One final question: there have yet to be any indoor rounds announced. Are you still planning on having a SX/AX Series in the fall?
For 2024, we will be going through a restructuring year for the Triple Crown as we’re currently working on some new partnerships that will revamp our Indoor series and come out swinging in 2025!
